More about Samantha Zerin / Shuli Elisheva:
I have a PhD in historical musicology from New York University and have taught both music history and theory at a variety of institutions. My students have included Ivy League undergraduates at Brown University, Jewish cantorial students at Hebrew College, inner-city undergraduates at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, and adult learners at the Koffler-Bornstein Institute of Jewish Studies. I have also taught classes for children at numerous synagogues, in addition to private tutoring students of all ages in music and Yiddish.
On social media, I have spent the past several years running some exciting blogs, Twitter accounts, and Facebook groups. Always thirsting for knowledge, I constantly – obsessively, even – pursue professional development by learning as much as I can from online marketing/branding courses, video trainings, webinars, podcasts, blogs, books, and other resources by digital marketing coaches such as Melyssa Griffin, Jill McAbe, Jeff Walker, and Jumpcut.
I compose music and write Yiddish poetry under my creative name, Shuli Elisheva. My music for solo piano, voice and piano, and small chamber ensembles often features a fantasy / sci-fi aesthetic. My poems largely explore issues of mental health, particularly depression, anxiety, and gender dysphoria.
Let's be in touch!
Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
I look forward to connecting with you! :-)
